Role Manager Errors

These are the role manager errors that can appear while opening the member context menu, assigning roles, or configuring role manager sections in the dashboard.

Discord Interaction Errors

"Role Manager can only be used inside a server."

What happened: A role manager interaction was triggered outside a Discord server. What to do: Reopen the context menu inside the correct server and try again.

"Role Manager is not enabled for this server."

What happened: The server has not enabled the role manager module. What to do: A server admin should enable role manager in the dashboard first.

"You don't have permission to manage roles."

What happened: Your Discord role does not have access to the configured role manager section. What to do: Ask a server admin to add your staff role to the section's allowed roles.

"That member is no longer available in this server."

What happened: The target member left the server or could not be resolved before the action finished. What to do: Refresh the member list and try again only if the member is still in the server.

"This role assignment is no longer valid."

What happened: The context menu state expired or no longer matches the current section and role selection. What to do: Reopen the context menu from the member profile and start the flow again.

"I can't manage roles right now."

What happened: Nexcord's bot role cannot safely assign or remove roles at the moment. What to do: A server admin should confirm the bot role still exists and is high enough to manage the target roles.

"No changes made."

What happened: The selected action did not actually add or remove any roles. What to do: Check the member's current roles and choose a different role if needed.

"Something went wrong. Please try again in a moment."

What happened: The role manager interaction failed for a general reason. What to do: Wait a moment and try again from the context menu.

Note: The following role manager errors are plan-limit errors.

"Upgrade to Pro to manage more sections and roles."

What happened: The role manager setup has reached the Free plan limit for sections or roles. What to do: Remove unused sections or roles, or ask a server admin to upgrade the server to Pro.

Role Manager API Errors

"Insufficient permissions"

What happened: The current dashboard account is not allowed to manage role manager settings. What to do: Sign in with a server admin account or ask a server admin to make the change.

"Too many requests. Please wait before trying again."

What happened: Role manager changes were submitted too quickly. What to do: Wait a moment and try again.

"Section name is required"

What happened: A section was created or renamed without a name. What to do: Enter a section name before saving.

"Failed to create section"

What happened: Nexcord could not create the new role manager section. What to do: Try again after refreshing the page.

"Section not found"

What happened: The section you tried to edit, add to, or delete no longer exists. What to do: Refresh the page and open the current section list again.

"Failed to update section"

What happened: Nexcord could not save changes to that section. What to do: Try the edit again after refreshing the page.

"role_id and role_name are required"

What happened: A role was submitted to a section without a valid role selection. What to do: Pick a Discord role first, then try again.

Note: The following role manager API errors are plan-limit errors.

"Upgrade to Pro to manage more sections."

What happened: The server is on the Free plan and has reached the section limit. What to do: Remove an unused section or upgrade the server to Pro.

"Upgrade to Pro to manage more roles in this section."

What happened: The server is on the Free plan and the section already contains the maximum number of roles. What to do: Remove an existing role from the section or upgrade the server to Pro.

"This role is already in the section."

What happened: The same Discord role was added to the same section more than once. What to do: Keep the existing entry and choose a different role if needed.

"discord_role_id and discord_role_name are required"

What happened: A section permission was submitted without selecting a valid Discord role. What to do: Choose the Discord staff role that should manage the section, then try again.

"This Discord role already has permission for the section."

What happened: That Discord role is already allowed to manage the section. What to do: Leave the existing permission in place or choose a different staff role.

"Failed to update role manager settings"

What happened: Nexcord could not save the top-level role manager settings. What to do: Try again after refreshing the page.

"Failed to load role manager logs"

What happened: The audit log for role manager actions could not be loaded. What to do: Refresh the page and try again later if needed.

Dashboard Errors

"Failed to load role manager."

What happened: The dashboard could not load the role manager sections, permissions, or supporting data. What to do: Refresh the page and try again.

"Please wait 60 seconds before refreshing again."

What happened: You refreshed the Discord role list too quickly from the dashboard. What to do: Wait one minute before using the refresh button again.

"Failed to refresh roles. Please try again."

What happened: The dashboard could not pull the latest Discord role list for role manager setup. What to do: Try the refresh button again after a short wait.

"Failed to save role manager settings."

What happened: The role manager settings page could not save the current module settings. What to do: Refresh the page and try again.

"Failed to create section."

What happened: The dashboard could not create a new section. What to do: Confirm the section name is filled in and try again.

"Failed to update section."

What happened: The dashboard could not save changes to the selected section. What to do: Refresh the page and try the edit again.

"Failed to delete section."

What happened: The selected section could not be deleted. What to do: Refresh the page and try again.

"Failed to add role to section."

What happened: The selected Discord role could not be added to the section. What to do: Refresh the role list, then try again.

"Failed to remove role."

What happened: The selected role could not be removed from the section. What to do: Refresh the page and try the removal again.

"Failed to add permission."

What happened: The selected staff role could not be granted access to the section. What to do: Refresh the page and try again.

"Failed to remove permission."

What happened: The selected permission entry could not be removed. What to do: Refresh the page and try again.

"Failed to load role manager logs."

What happened: The dashboard log view could not load role manager audit entries. What to do: Refresh the page and try again later if needed.
