Role Manager
Role Manager lets server admins delegate role assignment to trusted members — without giving them full administrator permissions. Staff members use Discord's right-click context menu to assign or remove roles from members.
How it works
- Admin configures sections in the dashboard (e.g. "IT", "Design", "Marketing")
- Each section contains a set of assignable roles
- Admin designates which Discord roles can manage each section
- Staff right-click a member → Apps → Nexcord → Role Manager
- They see only the sections they have permission to manage
- A select menu shows all roles in the section — pre-selected = already assigned
- They select/deselect roles and submit — changes apply instantly
Setting up Role Manager
- Go to your server dashboard at nexcord.app/dashboard
- Select your server
- Navigate to Members → Role Manager → Settings
- Enable the toggle
- Optionally select a Discord log channel for audit notifications
- Click Add Section and give it a name (e.g. "IT")
- Add roles to the section
- Add permitted Discord roles (who can manage this section)
- Click Save
Using Role Manager in Discord
- Right-click any member
- Click Apps
- Click Nexcord
- Click Role Manager
- Select a section
- Select or deselect roles
- Submit — changes apply instantly
Role hierarchy
Nexcord can only assign roles that are below the Nexcord bot role in your server's role hierarchy.
To fix: go to Server Settings → Roles and drag the Nexcord bot role above any roles you want to manage.
