How it Works

Nexcord verification is designed to keep the Discord-side action simple for members while giving admins more control in the dashboard.

Verification Mode

Admins choose between two modes from Verification settings → Verification Mode:

  • Web Verification: members click the verification button and complete verification on the Nexcord web page.
  • In-Discord Captcha: members click the verification button, acknowledge the rules in Discord, solve a math-expression captcha image, and receive the verified role after passing.

Member flow

  1. A member opens the verification channel.
  2. They click the verification button posted by Nexcord.
  3. Nexcord either directs them to https://nexcord.app/verify or starts the In-Discord Captcha flow, depending on the server's Verification Mode.
  4. Nexcord checks the active rules for that server.
  5. If the member passes, the verified role is assigned automatically.
  6. If you have Auto-roles enabled under Members → Auto-roles, those roles are assigned immediately after verification succeeds.

Admin flow

Admins control the entire policy from the dashboard:

  • Which role is assigned
  • Which channel hosts the prompt
  • Whether verification is enabled
  • Which restrictions apply

What Nexcord can enforce

  • Minimum account age
  • Auto-kick timeout
  • Cooldown windows
  • Maximum verifications per user
  • VPN/proxy blocking
  • Country blocking

Why the web step exists

The verification website makes it easier to run checks and present additional rules without cluttering the Discord channel itself. Servers that prefer a Discord-only flow can use In-Discord Captcha instead.

Suggested monitoring routine

  • Review verification logs regularly.
  • Keep the verified role narrowly scoped.
  • Update rules when your community policy changes.
