Account Age Restriction
Account age restriction blocks very new Discord accounts from verifying in your server.
Why use it
This control reduces the impact of raid accounts, disposable accounts, and short-lived spam profiles.
How it works
Nexcord checks the member's Discord account creation age during the verification flow. If the account is younger than your configured threshold, verification fails.
Good threshold ideas
- Days for light screening
- Weeks for medium friction
- Months for stricter gated communities
Tradeoffs
Higher thresholds reduce abuse but also increase friction for legitimate new Discord users. Pick the lowest rule that solves the problem you actually have.
Operational advice
- Start low and raise only if abuse continues.
- Pair account age checks with cooldown and VPN/proxy blocking if raids are a recurring issue.
- Explain the rule in your server rules so members understand why verification failed.
